UAE business guide

Google Ads or Meta Ads?
Start with the customer.

Choose a channel around how customers find your offer and what they need before inquiring. This guide compares Google Search campaigns with Facebook and Instagram advertising for a UAE service business.

Compare the customer moment.

Start with the channel your offer and available assets can support. Google Ads has other campaign formats too; the comparison below focuses on Search.

Google Search

  • Customer moment: looking for a service through a search query.
  • Starting point: specific services and relevant search intent.
  • Creative need: clear ad copy and a matching landing page.
  • Useful when: customers can describe the service they need.

Meta: Facebook and Instagram

  • Customer moment: discovering an offer while browsing content.
  • Starting point: an audience, a clear offer and engaging creative.
  • Creative need: suitable visual assets, copy and a clear next step.
  • Useful when: the offer benefits from explanation or demonstration.

Check whether the journey is ready.

Work through these questions before dividing a budget between platforms. An unclear destination or slow follow-up can limit either approach.

  • Can a prospective customer understand the offer and who it is for?
  • Does the ad lead to a relevant page, form or conversation?
  • Are the service areas and any exclusions clear?
  • Is someone responsible for responding and recording the outcome?
  • Can you separate relevant inquiries from unsuitable requests?

Apply it to a service-business example.

Consider a hypothetical maintenance company serving selected areas of Dubai. For a customer searching for an urgent repair, a Search campaign could lead to a page explaining that repair service and its inquiry route.

For a planned maintenance offer, a Meta campaign could explain what is covered through visual creative. The destination would need to qualify the property, service area and request before handing it to the team.

The decision is which customer moment the business can serve well. If it cannot yet explain the offer or handle inquiries consistently, resolve that first. This example illustrates a planning choice; it is not a client result.

Compare outcomes on the same basis.

Separate media spend from management, creative and any website or tracking work. Then compare the same business outcome rather than choosing a channel by the lowest cost per click.

  • Record the measured inquiries or purchases and their source.
  • Review which inquiries meet your agreed customer criteria.
  • Connect qualified inquiries to proposals and sales where records allow.
  • Explain missing data or overlapping platform attribution.
  • Choose what to keep, change or test at the next review.

Your next step: choose a defined offer, one primary customer action and an agreed review point. Use the resulting evidence to decide whether to expand to a second channel.

Explore the next step.
